Defining an Australian Premier 1st Grade Match

I am currently in the process of working on a Australian Premier 1st Grade Project. In this project I am looking at collating the following information:

• Every Australian Premier 1st Grade Match and Result
• Every Australian Premier 1st Grade Player
• Every Australian Premier 1st Grade Umpire
• Every Australian Premier 1st Grade Scorer
• Every Australian Premier 1st Grade Ground

This is the male competition only but once this is completed, I will be working on the women’s competitions.

In terms of what defines an Australian Premier 1st Grade match, each state and territory defines it as something different. In terms of my project, I am defining this as the following. This is to compare apples and apples, not apples and pears if you can get my drift.

Australian Capital Territory

• ACT Premier 1st Grade Competitions for the Douglas Cup, John Gallop Cup (and it’s predecessors) and the ACT Twenty20 Competition.

New South Wales

• NSW Premier 1st Grade Competitions for the Belvidere Cup, NSW Limited Overs Competition, Kingsgrove Sports Twenty20 Competition.
• The Rothman’s Cup and the Limited Overs Competition.

Queensland

• Queensland Premier 1st Grade Competitions for the Two-Day, One-Day and Twenty20 Competitions.
• K&R Plumbing One Day Competition and it’s predecessors.

South Australia

• SACA Premier 1st Grade, Limited Overs and Twenty20 Competitions.
• Gillette Cup One Day Competition

Tasmania

• Tasmania Premier 1st Grade, Limited Overs and Twenty20 Competitions (previously the STCA 1st Grade Competitions).
• Kookaburra Cup Knock-Out Competition.
• Town & Country Cup Knock-Out Competition.

Victoria

• Victoria Premier 1st Grade Two-Day and Limited Overs Competitions.
• Super Slam Twenty20 Competition.
• Premier Twenty20 Competition.
• HSV-7/Canberra TV/State Bank Cup Knock Out Competitions
• Kleenex Shield/Easton Sports Shield/Puma Knockout Cup/CUB One-Day Shield

Western Australia

• WACA Premier 1st Grade Two-Day Competition and One Day League Competition
• Premier T20 Competition
• Sunday League
• Statewide Twenty20 Competition
