Criteria for Unofficial Tests, One-Day Internationals, and Twenty20 Internationals

Following on from my criteria for Emerging Nations, this document compliments the previous criteria. This document shows what should and shouldn’t be classed as an Unofficial International. It may cause some controversy as it includes matches which previously have not been given First-Class, List A or T20 status but because of the criteria I have created, it would be hard to leave these matches out. Matches especially affected by this are World XI/Rest of the World matches and the Packer led World Series Cricket. Women’s matches are not forgotten, and it includes matches played by the Women’s Cricket Association side, especially matches against the Netherlands as well as matches played by the Caribbean nations prior to the formation of the Caribbean Women’s Cricket Federation.

Again please let me know of any feedback you have of this criteria.

Criteria for Defining an Emerging Nations Match

Over the past number of years I have had a strong interest in Emerging Nations matches (ie Afflilate and Associate nations). I have finally had time to put together a criteria for what is and isn’t an Emerging Nations match.

I am happy to have comments on this as it will be a evolving document as cricket is an evolving game.
